Brunel University: Measuring Social Value of Design Workshop

Michelle participated in an  Measuring Social Value of Design Workshop hosted by Youngok Choi. A collaborative AHRC funded project with the PDR team at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

It was an interesting cross section of attendees from design, brand, profit, non-profit organisations, research institutes and academia registered for the event to share thoughts and experiences about social values, design values and CSR principles. The workshop explored the use and usefulness of assessment & measurement tools, which included models like business model canvas and Sigma 6.

The aim was to understand the social values of design and explore social impact of design particularly how best SMEs can use design strategically to develop practical business approaches to CSR. The project is being undertaken by Brunel and Cardiff Metropolitan universities.
