Project: Craft Beer Brand

Written by on 28th August, 2015

The trend for great looking graphics on craft beer labels fuelled the idea for this particular venture.

This Craft Beer label project was a collaboration between the Go Connect Project and our team of brand and packaging designers. We wanted to encourage young illustrators and give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment on a commercial project. Tom and Dan from the Rhondda came into work with us over a period of three weeks and we briefed them as we would do any other illustrators. Their story is interesting and their own preference for line artworks of a gothic and mystical nature influenced their designs.

There is a story behind each one of the labels that can be told on the reverse of the labels, all based around Welsh mythology. The back of the bottles have a cheeky surprise. The output of the project was a range of great looking craft beer labels under a brand name that they came up with. It is up for grabs at a very reasonable cost. This is why we haven’t put the full design here just a few sneak previews. Please note that we don’t normally work this way, but we are making an exception here as this is a collaborative project to support Tom and Dan through Go Connect. Please drop us a line if you are interested to see the full designs and we will arrange a meeting.

"The lads have enjoyed every minute of their time at the studio and have never been so motivated or enthusiastic as a result. They understand the commercial situation and have just been extremely grateful for the opportunity, so it bodes well for their future.”
Alan Prosser, Go Connect.
